From Monday June 15th we shall be open to the public again on Poland Street.  We shall have social distancing measures in place; sanitiser to hand; mandatory mask wearing and outdoor queuing come rain or shine.  We shall open between 10.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, weekends we shall be breathing fresh air away from Oxford Street.  Please keep shopping online, Click & Collect is an excellent solution, if you're in Central London we hope to offer a courier service.  It's nothing personal but staying away is the new staying at home.  In the meantime if you're keen to come in we urge you to build a 'wishlist' on our site to help keep traffic down in the shop.

About us

Since 1902 MacCulloch & Wallis had supplied the fashion trade with fine fabrics and trimmings from the same central London premises between Oxford Street and Bond Street in the heart of Mayfair. Until April 2015 the store still looked much the same as it would have done in the decade before MacCulloch & Wallis moved in when a cross-legged tailor sat in the window plying his trade. After many decades of squeezing yet more and more stock into what seemed to be a shrinking space we have now moved to a more open and accessible space in Soho.

In 2015 we said goodbye to Dering street and moved 400 paces East from Oxford Circus into the heart of theatreland where we continue to ply our trade in our exciting 'new' shop at 25 Poland Street where you will now find us. The new shop is tidily arranged over two large floors, rather than five small floors, so we can spend less time looking for errant stock and more time helping you to choose it.

Fast forward to 2019 and we have now introduced knitting yarns and more needlecraft supplies  into the mix as we aim to  keep the West End alive as somewhere to buy everything to make everything beyond the all-too familiar fast-fashion that surrounds us.
