Celeste Mittens Pattern

The Celeste Mittens are worked from the wrist up. The thumb is worked at the end. The mittens are worked either on a long circular needle using the Magic Loop technique or on double-pointed needles.

Size guide: Use a measuring tape to measure around your hand at the knuckles. The sizes 3-6 years (6-10 years) S (M) L fit an approximate hand circumference of 14-15 (15-17) 17-18 (18-20) 20-22cm.

Gauge: 22 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10cm in colourwork pattern on a 4mm needle. 22 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10cm in stockinette stitch on a 3.5mm needle

Needles: 3mm, 3.5mm and 4mm / 80cm circular needles if using the Magic Loop technique, or 3mm, 3.5mm and 4mm double-pointed needles

Materials: Pattern colour 1 (colour for rib cuff, thumb and top): approx. 32 (40) 48 (54) 62g Peer Gynt by Sandnes Garn (50g = 91m). Pattern colour 2: approx. 8 (10) 12 (15) 16g Peer Gynt by Sandnes Garn (50g = 91m). Pattern colour 3: approx. 4 (6) 8 (10) 10g Peer Gynt by Sandnes Garn (50g = 91m).
